The Royal Chamber is an exquisite hideaway with a unique twist - it is situated inside Hedingham Castle, on the very top floor! Slumber like nobility in the very first, and only, luxurious bedroom retreat inside a Norman keep, the only one of its kind in the country. And when you stay in the Royal Chamber, you have the entire castle to yourself for the duration of your stay, a truly once in a lifetime experience.

Please note, due to a very busy weddings and events schedule, we are currently only able to offer midweek dates (Monday-Thursday) up to 6 months in advance, with limited availability over the summer months.

Make the most of the acres of beautiful Essex countryside on your doorstep; enjoy long walks on the Hedingham Estate and wander into the picturesque village of Castle Hedingham with its quaint shops, cafés and pubs. Further afield, you’ll find the stunning Essex coastline with its miles of sandy beaches; charming chocolate box villages including Coggeshall and Finchingfield; delightful local vineyards, fantastic restaurants and so much more.

Bed & Breakfast rate:
From £545 per night, including a bottle of English sparkling wine, chocolates and a Continental breakfast for two.

Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate:
From £1250 per night, including a 5-course locally sourced dinner for two served in the Banqueting Hall, a bottle of English sparkling wine, chocolates and a Continental breakfast for two. Wine pairing with dinner available on request.

Please note:

The Royal Chamber is an adults-only retreat and children are not permitted. Dogs are not permitted. Please be aware that The Royal Chamber is situated on the top floor of Hedingham Castle and can only be accessed via stairs. As such, we regret that it is not an accessible location.
