Bar Manager
Hedingham Castle is recruiting for an experienced, friendly and confident Bar Manager to oversee bar operations across all our weddings and events set within our historic and unique venue, to ensure consistently high standards of service.
The Bar Manager Role Overview
Operational Management: Full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bar, delivering a smooth, efficient and profitable operation.
Menu & Setup Development: Contribute and develop ideas for drinks menus and bar setups that suit the style and requirements of each wedding and event.
Stock & Supplier Control: Manage supplier relationships, ordering, stock levels and staff rotas with accuracy, efficiency and fairness.
Team Leadership: Lead, train and support the bar team to maintain strong service standards and professional presentation.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must have proven experience in bar or hospitality management, with the ability to lead a team in a busy, high-expectation environment.
They must be organised, practical and confident in both operational and people-management responsibilities.
This role is well suited to someone who takes pride in delivering a reliable, well-run service at high-end weddings and events.
Due to the nature of the role, evening and weekend work is essential.

Historian Volunteers
Do you love history? Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge with others? Do you enjoy educating school children about their local history?
We are looking for Historian Volunteers to join our team! Our Historian Volunteers are essential for sharing our rich history with visitors and school groups. We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly individuals to be involved in education workshops for our school visits and history tours on general open days and on some event days.
What we’re looking for:
Individuals with a passion for history
Confident talking to groups, both adults and children
Able to climb stairs - due to the nature of the building, there are a lot of stairs inside the castle, as well as some mild hills involved when giving tours
Knowledge about Hedingham Castle’s history is not essential, as training will be provided.
